Kirk Cypel – Chief Operating Officer and Chief Legal Officer. Mr. Cypel has overall responsibility for asset management, legal, and administrative functions and is a member of Equastone’s Investment Committee.  He has more than 20 years of broad-based legal, operating, real estate and finance experience.

Prior to joining Equastone, Mr. Cypel was COO and General Counsel at another California-based real estate investment firm, overseeing real estate operations, purchases and sales, financial operations, leasing and joint venture investments for retail properties, office projects, shopping centers, single-tenant assets, residential developments and condominium conversions. In addition, He was a Vice President and Group Manager of Security Pacific Merchant Bank’s Financial Strategies Division and served as an associate at O’Melveny & Myers where he gained extensive experience in asset-based and structured financings.  As a lawyer, banker and investment manager, Mr. Cypel has played a prominent role in well over $1 billion of acquisitions, dispositions and financial transactions.  He earned his JD at Loyola Law School Los Angeles and his undergraduate degree at New York University’s Stern School of Business.
