Equastone CEO Named One of the “20 Rising Stars of Global Institutional Real Estate”

San Diego, CA – Equastone continued a year of unprecedented achievement with the announcement that CEO Chad Carpenter, 42, was chosen as one of the “20 Rising Stars of Real Estate” by Institutional Investor News. The prestigious annual list recognizes the top 20 real estate professionals from all over the world that are deemed most likely to set the trends in the real estate industry globally.

“Chad is an exceptional leader whose hard work and industry expertise have brought significant growth to our company,” said David Bourne, Equastone Chairman. “He possesses the drive, vision and motivational skills that have enabled Equastone to expand nationally. He is keenly aware of emerging markets where Equastone can strategically buy, fix, lease and sell commercial properties to achieve target returns for our investors.”

“It is an honor to be recognized in the company of such accomplished professionals from around the world,” said Carpenter. “I am grateful to our incredible team and to valued investors, clients and partners who have placed their trust in Equastone. With this tremendous support, I feel we are just getting started.”

Equastone employs an opportunistic and value-added approach to real estate investing that allows the company to target higher total net returns for investors than alternatives such as public and private REITs. Since co-founding Equastone in 1993, Carpenter and team have delivered exceptional returns to investors. Carpenter credits much of this success to pricing assets effectively and solving complex problems with creative solutions.

Chad Carpenter is a co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Equastone, and is primarily responsible for overseeing the implementation of Equastone's corporate strategy, including investments and operations. Carpenter has over 20 years of experience in real estate including capital management, joint ventures, direct investing, brokerage and operations. He is a graduate of University of Southern California and the Harvard University Graduate School of Design (“Running a Real Estate Company Program”).

The Institutional Investor News “20 Rising Stars of Real Estate” were selected from a pool of several hundred global real estate innovators that were nominated by industry peers. Each nominee selected for the honor is 45 years or younger and demonstrates overall industry participation, impact and expertise. Nominees were chosen based on age, length of career, overall industry participation, and expertise and represent a diverse group of real estate professionals from North America, Europe, and Asia.
